Route Sharing Event

Bike route sharing event next Thursday (3/20)!

Thursday, March 20th 6-8PM: I’m giddy to tell you about this event: our second after-hours info share and the first of what will hopefully be a series of Bicycle Show N’ Tell: Local Bike Routes!  We’ll be gathering to hear about several different bike routes in the Dane County area, spoken to by as many different riders who will be here to show pictures, tell stories, and offer key information for anyone wishing to venture out on these great rides.

This event has been inspired, spurred, and co-organized by my friend Amber Krueger—industry colleague, rad biker, and local Coordinator of Silly Bicycle Events (her words).  We’ve pulled together a fantastic roster of folks to tell us about rides that have inspired them, to which they return, and which they want to share with you and enable you to ride, yourself.

Some enticing words about some routes we’ll encounter:

Bike Goofing(TM) in Spring Green!

Riding to Gibraltar Rock!

Lodi-Springfield Rd and a niiiiiice cemetery!

Touring Wisconsin roads on folding e-bikes!

And more!

Come to Cool Bikes North next Thursday, March 20th for this 6-8pm route share, show-and-tell event, and let’s get each other stoked for spring rides! As if this weather weren’t exciting enough, right???

There will be snacks, there will be sparkle waters, and we can’t wait to see you there!

The event is free but we’d love it if you would register so we know to expect you!

What are we wearing this Spring Fling?

A good hat.  We’re on the other shoulder now—shoulder season, that is.  Spring is great and we love it ANNNNNND it can be devilishly hard to dress for, especially if you:

-go on a long ride

-ride your bike somewhere at one point in the day and then do something for a while and then ride your bike back (to where? could be anywhere) at a different point of the day when the weather is different.

Temps fluctuate, rain starts and stops, who knows when we’ll get that final snow squall, but a good hat remains a good hat.  And it doesn’t have to remain on your head when you don’t need it.

For these seasonably mercurial bike times, I reach for my trusty Gore C5 Road Cycling Cap, made by the folks who make the arguably (but not fact-checked) most-known high-performance materials in the outdoor softgoods multiverse.  You’ve heard of Gore-Tex, and you’ve probably heard of Gorewear, the clothing made by the same folks. If you haven’t, well, that’s what it is, and that’s who makes the hat I’ll be wearing for the next month or two of commutes in to work.  We’ve got ‘em at the shop, they’re one-size, they’ve got the perfect length visor for where the sun sits in the transitioning heavens this time of year, and you’ll absolutely love wearing this great hat if you love to keep your ears warm and your noggin dry.

That’s all, folks.

Next Thursday!  Come for the Show N’ Tell!  6-8pm!

Good bye, happy spring, see you soon!

Zach
